Eventful weekend at SCR24/25 Aug.

Practice run Saturday dinner  Mark was in the hot seat this weekend. We pulled round on to the track a good burnout by Mark. The launch was hard but Mark was on and off the throttle to the finish line A big cloud of blue smoke in the shutdown area.

We checked the car and decided that a rocker cover gasket had leaked and put oil on to the hot header pipes. A new set of rocker gaskets were fitted.

We towed down for round one at 3-30 but a rain shower ended the day early and we towed back to the pit.

It was decided to have 3 rounds on Sunday round one at 10-30 up against Steve Goode in the funny car Mark left hard ans wheels up charging down the track to a PB 8.8 at 157mph well done mark,

More smoke and a lot of oil on the car.

Back in the pit we tore down the top end and found a inlet manifold gasket had been letting blower pressure into the valley.

We sorted this with good old silicon. Put the engine back together ready for round 2.anti climax when the battery pack failed and we towed back to the pit.

Round 3 was at 3 o clock and we were ready with batteries borrowed from Lee Gallimore and Roy Wilding Mark was up against Sam Freeman Mark again left hard then at about 330ft there was a big bang and a flash from the off side cylinder head. The burst panel blew along with the head gasket so a thrash now to get the car sorted for the Bulldog Bash.
